Dearest Pierre,
Although you left our world on July 26, 2024, your love lives on through the countless souls who were graced by your beautiful teachings. I am one of those souls.
Thank you for making me a more compassionate person, for opening my heart with your gentle words of kindness for all, and for lifting the vibration of our planet.
Reading your transformational work, The Gentle Art of Blessing, changed my life and taught me the practice and the power of blessing others. In the ten years since I have read those pages, I have put into practice the main premise of the book: When someone crosses my mind, I bless them.
Yes, we can change the world in the silence of our hearts. Each one of us holds a light in the center of our being that is connected to all other hearts. It has the power to lift and to transform. When given generously with a heart of love, this humble act of blessing others shines the light of comfort on the receiver.
In your book, you teach us that, “To bless means to wish, unconditionally and from the deepest chamber of your heart, unrestricted good for others and events.”
It takes only a little mindfulness to recognize the countless opportunities we have in a day to lift up others in ways that are beyond the scope of our material world. You put it beautifully when you write, “To bless all without distinction is the ultimate form of giving, because those you bless will never know from whence came the sudden ray that burst through the clouds of their skies…”
Pierre, in this world of disharmony and division, blessing others gives us a positive alternative to aggravation and complaint, helplessness and fear. We can bless the vulnerable, the disenfranchised, the grieving. We can bless the person who offends us, the person who is unkind, the person whose beliefs are very different from our own. We can bless our beloveds, our leaders, our world.
You show us that there is always something we can do to change the world for the better, and in the process, become an instrument of compassion and healing. Shining within the heart of each one of us is a simple spiritual tool that changes everything.
It is the powerful phrase: Bless you.
In your honor, may we use the art of blessing others as a spiritual practice in the small moments of each day.
May we send blessings to loved ones and strangers alike, in situations of ease and also in ones of challenge.
May we lift our world with the light of our love.
Thank you for the gift of your teachings, Pierre. Your love lives on through us.
Bless you.
With infinite love,
Mary
