A couple of years ago I was contacted by a Spanish woman from Barcelona who told me that her husband, a great admirer and practitioner of blessing, was going to be celebrating his 60th anniversary. She wanted to prepare something special for him and asked me if I would be ready to come and give a surprise talk on blessing to his family, friends and acquaintances and that she would pay all expenses. I was only too happy to agree. At the last minute she told her husband I was coming to Barcelona to give a talk and would he like her to invite me to dinner. Of course he was delighted, and I told him about the talk on blessing I was giving the next day and invited him to come along.
The next evening, all the guests were there punctually at 8 p.m. in the conference hall and he arrived around 8.30. I will never ever forget the air of total amazement and joy when he turned around and saw over 150 of his friends and family assembled to honor him.
The next day, I went to the bookstore where he purchased all his copies of the book on blessing and the owner of the store confirmed that he had purchased over six hundred (600!) copies of the book over the years. It was his daily practice, the foundation of his spiritual life. He always had copies of the book with him and would give it spontaneously whenever he met a heart receptive to its message.
